My essays
I'm in uni at the moment. I should probably be reading what Karl Barth or Dietrich Bonhoeffer have to say on Christian ethics. Or maybe I should be reading Josephus' Jewish War. I was supposed to read the whole book by last wednesday - I only just got hold of it yesterday! Hmmm.... what fun! Going for lunch with Gill in about 10 mins, so it's probably not worth getting the books out now! Maybe I'll just tell you about my essays. I have to write an essay on abortion, in particular what Karl Barth said about it. It's really quite heavy stuff. I also have to write an essay on the extent to which knowledge of the wider Jewish culture around the time of the New Testament can benefit New Testament study. That's a rather broad topic. Not quite sure how to approach it... Any suggestions?

On thursday night I was unpacking my stuff from camp and getting ready for bed when I discovered that I couldn't find my teddy!! 'Hug Me' has been my favourite teddy since I was 4 (that's quite a while). He's been everywhere with me, from Florida to Austria to uni and back and he even came to camp with me. I didn't take him to Africa or Romania because I didn't want to lose him (the irony). Well! I was somewhat perplexed when I couldn't find him. I wracked my brains and retraced our steps. Oh No! I must have put him in the laundry with all the bed linen. I had to find out if he was missing forever. So I text a guy I know who was working at the centre where we'd been, and low and behold.... Hug Me's alive (well... y'know what I mean!) I've sent a SAE so hopefully we'll be reunited in the next few days. I hope he'll forgive me! I'm going to be more careful with him in future. My dad suggested getting an electronic tracking devise...

Well, I just got back from camp today. So far I've eaten some popcorn, used the facilities, said hi to the dog, opened my mail and sat at the computer mindlessly wasting time on Bebo and Myspace for over 2 hours! Maybe I should go have a shower or go for a nap. Mmm... a nap sounds nice, I am pretty knackered. You can tell when I'm really tired coz I get a bit of the old verbal skitters. I discovered this week at camp that I also start to make random noises (not like snorts or anything scarey, just little 'oh' and 'eek' type noises) think I might have "night time Tourettes" !! I really am EXHAUSTED!!! Think I might have put on half a stone or so with all the breakfast I ate at camp (that's a good thing!). Wow, it's so nice not having to entertain children 24/7. I mean that can be fun but phwoo I'm shattered! Get the idea? Right time to shut up I feel....
